Why should I use YOKE INTERIOR DESIGN?

We believe in what we do and the intrinsic value we give our clients. We are flexible in our approach accommodating to your needs and passionate about creating personable spaces that is unique to you. We believe in producing detailed schematic designs for our clients that help them make important decisions before construction begins, thus saving them from making unnecessary and expensive mistakes before construction begins.  We know how to bring your vision to life!   

I live outside your area. Can you still work for me?

Absolutely! Whether you live remotely, interstate or overseas, we are able to work with you. Thanks to the benefits of technology, we are able to work in a more virtual way using a combination of email, Mydoma Studio (an interior design communication hub) and video conferencing tools such as zoom/messenger. However, should you desire a face to face meeting that is outside the Mackay region.  Travel and accommodation expenses will need to be discussed and factored in.

Do you charge for your first meeting?

I do not charge for our initial scheduled 15 min phone/zoom call meeting. This is because I will not be offering  you any design advice. The purpose of the initial meeting is for you to tell me about your project and for us to work out if we are a good fit for each other. If by the end of our conversation we would both like to move forward, we can schedule in an consultation time to get started.  

Consultation fees need to be paid prior to the consultation day which can be done through the 'book online' tab on the website.

 

Consultation fees are as follows:

Mon-Fri (9am-5pm) - $375 (90 min ) 

Mon-Fri after business hours  (5.30-7.30pm) - $475 (2hrs )

Sat/Sun consultation fee (depending on designer availability)  -$675  (2 hours)

I am not sure what I like?

No need to worry.  Not many people do.  We will try and help you define your style during the consultation process and advise you on the best design direction for your home. 

Is there a contract?

Yes, for all projects, Yoke interior design prepares an interior design service agreement specific to your project which you are required to sign off on before any design work begins. We also have a standard interior design terms and conditions document for you to read over and sign off on as well. This protects you as the client and me as the designer.

What happens if I don't like something YOKE has suggested?

We encourage open and honest conversation during the design phase as this ensures a more successful end product for you. Our job is to completely satisfy your expectations. We are designing your space not our own :)  While we will happily make any necessary changes during the initial design process...we may get a little sad if those changes keep on changing!

How can an interior designer save me money?

Interior Designers save you potential money loss and prevents poor design choices from being made. I have seen it time and time again! Less ideal outcomes due to poor design plans having not being thought through enough. It makes  me cringe! Furthermore,  we save you time in decision making that ultimately speeds up the build time but most importantly, we preserve your mental well being....you can not put a price on that!

What is your style?

YOKE INTERIOR DESIGN has a contemporary, chic and timeless aesthetic.  However, we appreciate and are able to execute all design styles and tastes. It is important however, if you want a certain outcome that you provide us with as much visual detail as possible. 

What should I do before I make any contact with an interior designer?

It really is important before you make contact with a designer to have a realistic budget in mind. Not a fairytale one! The images you see on PINTREST are gorgeous indeed and every bit comes with a healthy budget in mind.   When you do not give a designer a budget, it can potentially come down to wasting your time and money and the designer's time in creating a concept that is way out of your budget.

Do some research first to get a general sense of how much things cost.

Design costs should be considered within your budget and is definitely a worth while cost!

Do you have a specialty?

YOKE specialises in creating unique schematic designs (design concepts) for their clients which ultimately helps fast track the decision making process. Clients are able to see their vision in a 3-dimensional model before they start the build process.  Clients can feel more confident and at ease knowing what the end result will look like with the decisions they have made. 

What type of clients do you generally work with?

YOKE generally works with busy professionals that want a beautiful home, but don't necessarily have the time or know how on how to pull it together themselves. Our clients generally want a custom feel that is unique to their home , who appreciate  design aesthetics and place high value on quality materials, products and services.  

How involved in the process do I need to be?

This is up to you. We will generally communicate to you on a 'needs' basis and likewise you can communicate with us in the same manner. At the first stage of the design process, it is crucial for you to be 100% involved and give us as much accurate information as possible.  The more detailed information you give us about your vision, the more satisfied you will be with the end result.  We generally try to present as much detail in the concept creation stage so you are able to make more informed decisions easily.
